Luang Prabang

Luang Prabang north central Laos,an attractive heritage listed town, mostly for its fine French colonial architecture. The town is relatively small and can be navigated on foot or TukTuk if feeling lazy.It is now very tourist orientated so restaurants and guesthouses are plentiful as are tour agencies and souvenir and handicraft shops.
The downside to this is that there are a great many tourists here, though mostly concentrated in the very pretty river peninsula area.in fact I think in my travels thus far I have not seen so many white faces in the one place before,it is a little disconcerting but perhaps I have just become elitist.
However there are posters about requesting tourists not to act in an inapropriate obtrusive and invasive manner during the early morning alms giving to the monks.
Unfortunately the weather has not been kind, very grey and overcast and somewhat cool, also a few rain showers about.
